As I close my eyes
I could hear his voice saying
Mama tell them
Tell them for me
I’m in a place where no child needs to be
Darkness everywhere fires burning wild
Can’t sleep from thoughts of still wanting to be a child
Mama you’ve got to make them listen
You’ve got to make them hear
On how I wish I had seen my fifteenth birthday
When I was alive
I was running fast living without a care
Now day after day all I live in -- is fear
The endless pain no love in sight
Mama I miss your loving arms around me saying
Baby everything will be all right
I see faces down here I recognize
It’s sad to say they too
We’re living a life in disguise

Mama tell them
To take off their masks
Leave the drugs the shooting the killings alone
Cause if they don’t they too will be calling this place-- home
Mama tell them tell them for me
Cause I’m crying through eyes
That wishes they could see
Oh how I wish I could dream dreams
Watch them come true
Feel love and happiness too
Hear joy and laughter
Feel sunlight on my face -- feel the touch of a hand
Mama you’ve got to tell them
Mama do all that you can
I’m so lonely mama I’m so scared
I wish I had listened to those who truly cared
Mama tell them
Since I’m no longer around
Tell them to walk away just walk away
Walk away while they still can

Mamaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
